Utah State law makes texting while driving illegal

Abstract:
In most states, texting while driving that results in injury or death is punished with as little as a small fine. The law is more serious in Utah, and a driver who commits this same offense can spend up to 15 years in jail.

On March 25, 2008 the state Senate passed Bill 290 that made texting while driving illegal in Utah....

I listen to incoming text messages, I use drivesafe.ly mobile application to make sure my concentration is on driving.

Even the Federal Government has been cracking down on this. They recently launched a site called http://distraction.gov/ in order to create more awareness.
